The role

What the role involves

  • Drive a delivery van and drop off Amazon packages to customers within the assigned community.
  • Plan on working about four to five days a week.
  • Plan on a typical working day being about ten hours.
  • Use handheld technology to manage the delivery process.
  • Follow strict safety standards on and off the road.
  • Interact with Amazon customers in a professional and positive manner.

Requirements

What you need

  • You must be at least 21 years old.
  • You must be comfortable delivering in the dark and in adverse weather conditions.
  • No CDL is required.
  • A company vehicle is provided.

The day

A fast pace, done safely

Our process starts early in the morning at a centralized location. We review the scheduled deliveries for the day and send you out to deliver, systematically, efficiently and safely.

You deliver in the safety of our cargo vans, and Amazon’s proprietary GPS system guides you along your daily route.

Hiring

How hiring works

  1. Start your pre-screen

    Choose the location you want to work from, Evansville or Vincennes, and complete that location’s pre-screen online.

  2. In-person interview

    If you qualify, we reach out to arrange a 30 to 45 minute in-person interview to review your qualifications and fit with the TALA Logistics team.

  3. Offer letter

    After a successful interview you receive a tentative offer to join the team. A formal offer depends on completing the remaining onboarding steps.

  4. Background review and drug screen

    You receive instructions for entering your credentials in the Amazon Onboarding Portal. This starts a background review and a five-panel drug screen, which does not test for marijuana. It may take seven to ten days to complete.

  5. Two days of classroom training

    Amazon provides two days of classroom training covering equipment use and best practices. New hires complete a route with an experienced associate before delivering solo.

  6. Ready to hit the road

    For your first two weeks on the road you complete nursery routes, which are lower volume than a full route. By the end of the second week you should be fully qualified for any route assigned.
